I am a freelance non-profit management professional with over 25 years of experience in all aspects of non-profit management - having worked as a manager, a consultant and a free-lancer. Most of the work I do now is grant writing - it is what most of my clients want me to do these days - although I enjoy other fund raising work and constituency development when they come my way. I have written numerous proposals and applications, large and small - for health and human service organizations, performing arts groups, two environmental organizations, a museum, an arts service/umbrella organization and a community arts center, among others. I have worked on a project basis, as an adjunct staffer and by the hour - all depending on the needs of the organization. My grant writing work is charged on a project basis, and my fees are more than reasonable and recognize the constraints most non-profit organizations confront.
Background on business:
All my work has been in Eastern and Central Massachusetts. I have enjoyed my two stints in Executive Director positions, but free-lance work and targeted consulting are truly my loves. I have an MBA from the Simmons College Graduate School of Management in Boston and find that I use the knowledge and skills obtained there every day. Lately I have also added the mentoring of managers to my practice, which is immensely satisfying work.
