Summary description of business and/or services offered:
Dancing Star International. Be the star you are.
The science of Astronomy tells us that stars coalesce from clouds of swirling energy, gas, and matter. Some pre-star clouds form stars automatically, some never do, and some need something – a nudge, a catalyst – to complete their transformation.
Deborah Huisken and her colleagues at Dancing Star International (DSI) help business and not-for-profit leaders become the stars they are capable of being via executive coaching, organizational design and development consulting, and experiential leadership development services.
By applying creativity and intuition grounded in solid business experience, Deborah and DSI help individuals and organizations reach beyond the ordinary to embrace their talents and differences, and thus achieve their highest potential as innovative leaders and teams.
Deborah and her colleagues provide global business leaders and organizations with:
• Individual and team programs, both in-house and off-site, customized and pre-packaged
• Coaching, mentoring, and facilitation – both face-to-face and virtually – for heightened awareness, improved effectiveness, and greater impact
• Problem solving for results, from providers with cutting-edge insights
Organizational clients have included the University of Wales, Ashridge, and the Society for Organisational Learning, as well as individual mid- and senior-level clients from companies such as Apple Computer, London School of Economics, and General Dynamics. This diverse clientele are native to countries around the globe, including Japan, Korea, Israel, England, Sweden, Trinidad, Canada, and the United States, and from consumer as well as business-to-business industries, the sciences, and the arts.
Brief background on business:
An avid traveler, Deborah has worked with organizations large and small throughout Europe, the US, and into the Middle East and South Africa. Prior to founding Dancing Star International in 1994, she worked in the transportation, publishing, manufacturing, and high-tech industries, where she filled numerous roles from hands-on mechanic to strategy and oversight as European Marketing Manager. She holds a BA in Comparative Literature Honors, and two coaching certifications (CPCC and PCC – professional certified coach) both recognized by the International Coach Federation.
Deborah offers highly experiential work – including exercises drawn from the acting and dance arenas – to inspire business leaders to take the innovative steps that will resolve the challenges they face. Having learned first-hand the value of having wise partners on one’s journey, she is energized by helping individuals and companies develop the distinctive gifts that make their organization financially viable, and the world at large a better place.
Testimonials and/or references:
“We had a look at our numbers as you suggested, and realized that our revenues are up 30% over last year, and we’re finally in the black after too many years of red. I attribute that directly to the work I’ve done with you. It’s kind of “out there”, but you’ve converted me – I do now believe that this coaching stuff works!” ~ David Fox, US, Fox Photography
“Thank you so much! I got wonderful feedback after today's retreat and the team looks forward to working further with you. You have a great style and a lot of insight and perspective on our organization that just got the conversation flowing.” ~Dr. Sarah Kemble, US, Community Health Center of Franklin County
“I just wanted to thank you one more time for putting on a most interesting program on Giftedness and High Sensitivity last night. It has provided me with much food for thought, and I'm sure has piqued others' thoughts as well. I came to work today rejuvenated, thanks to you!” ~ Karen Borofsky, US, Women Entrepreneurs in Science & Technology event organizer
