I have written a book, Quick Start Writing for Non-Profits. It is specifically for newbies...those moms, volunteers, new staff or board members that have been asked to create fundraising materials, press releases, or write grants, but have no idea as to where to begin. The book has templates and worksheets that can be copied to help develop any of the written materials needed. For fundraising there are samples and templates for event tickets, auction sheets, sponsorship packages and more. For marketing there are templates for press releases and public service announcements. And for grant writing, there are worksheets to develop both boilerplate proposals as well as an overview on completing state/federal grants. This is the book that I wish I had when I first started to dabble in the non-profit arena.
I have also written a book for grant writing specifically for equine-assisted learning and therapy organizations.
Background on you and/or your business:
I have been involved with non-profits for over twenty years. I started as a mom and volunteer helping out. From there I became the executive director of a children's museum, a founding board member of a foundation for a national park and as a grant writer at a community college.
